Chakras (pronounced "CHOCK-rahs") are energy centers in the subtle body. The word comes from Sanskrit and means "wheel" or "disk."
While you can't see chakras with the naked eye, many energy healers, yogis, and intuitives can sense them. Think of chakras as energy hubs where physical, emotional, and spiritual energies intersect.
There are seven main chakras aligned along the spine, from the base to the crown of the head. Each one:
